This week’s investment by the NSUS Group in High Stakes Poker Productions, the company behind Hustler Casino Live, has given poker fans around the world a lot to look forward to in the months and years to come. With GGPoker ambassadors such as Daniel ‘Kid Poker’ Negreanu sure to the most popular live cash game stream in the world in future weeks, the biggest cash game in L.A. is back.
The news arrived in a polite press release on X.com as NSUS Group Inc. bought out the equity in Hustler Casino Live previously owned by Nick Vertucci. The former co-owner of High Stakes Poker Productions (HSPP) was ousted from the brand after allegations into his possible sexual misconduct began. Now, under the stewardship of the company who own GGPoker, Hustler Casino Live can begin a new era of their own.
Last year, the NSUS Group bought out the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and by adding a stake in HSPP to their portfolio, the company who own GGPoker have acquired the biggest and best live streaming production in live poker. It’s a power move of the highest kind in operations and one that separates GGPoker from rivals such as PokerStars, 888poker and Americas Cardroom in the streaming space.
The positives for Hustler Casino Live (HCL) are obvious, with Vertucci’s departure now firmly in the rear-view and co-owner Ryan Feldman looking forward to turning his attentions to the potential growth in the live streaming format they have proven so popular at delivering during recent years.
“This partnership with NSUS marks an exciting new chapter for High Stakes Poker Productions,” he said. “With the of a strong, forward-thinking partner, we are positioned to grow Hustler Casino Live even further and continue to offer fans the best live stream poker content in the world. I am proud to lead this company into the future. The sky is the limit.”
“This is going to get me out of retirement and returning to the felt!” ~ Daniel Negreanu
As well as Feldman, GGPoker Global Ambassador and WSOP icon Daniel Negreanu is looking forward to playing on the HCL felt. The seven-time WSOP bracelet winner can’t wait to the waiting list for a seat.
“You rarely see me playing high stakes poker on streams anymore,” he said. “This is going to get me out of retirement and returning to the felt, playing on the most epic cash game stream poker has ever seen. I’m ready to battle!”
Kid Poker, ‘Blank Cheque’ Ben, Mateos, Feldman himself and many others will be back at the HCL felt very soon. Over the last few years, Hustler Casino Live has produced some incredible high stakes action, with legends of the cash game world such as Mikki Mase, Garrett Adelstein and Phil Ivey all present on the same night at times, such as this example, where $100,000 was a minimum buy-in at stakes of $200/$400.
Players such as Garrett Adelstein are synonymous with the HCL brand and his infamous ‘jack-four’ hand against Robbi Jade Lew.
We all that amazing hand, but will Adelstein be prepared to come back now that he is a father and life is different? Just as with the WSOP, GGPoker has pulling power and we think Adelstein would be mad to turn down the action, even – or perhaps especially – if it involves playing against Lew herself.
HCL has frequently hosted games where a million dollars has been on the table. As recently as last year, Michael ‘Texas Mike’ Moncek, Tom Dwan and Alan Keating all competed in monster pots where everything was on the line; cash, bragging rights, and even reputations.
With other big celebrity names such as Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins, Dan ‘Blitz’ Bilzerian and even Santos and Brazil soccer star Neymar Junior possible players in 2025, Hustler Casino Live is back on the horizon, and we can’t wait to see how the action plays out over the coming years.
The best live poker stream in the world just got even bigger.
